Albert Kanyek Libre III is a boundary-breaking artist passionate about blending the rich traditions of Chinese and Western art. Specializing in Xiěyì (寫意) or spontaneous-style Chinese Brush Painting and the vibrant Lingnan style, Albert infuses his works with dynamism and boldness, creating pieces that transcend traditional boundaries.
Having exhibited his art in prestigious venues across the Philippines, China, and the United States, Albert's journey has been shaped by a commitment to learning and mastery. He honed his craft through workshops at the Guang Zhou Academy of Fine Arts, China, and studied under esteemed masters such as Dr. Alex Chan Lim, Ceasar Cheng, and Dr. Ning Yeh.
His artistic evolution began with explorations in charcoal pencil, Western watercolor, oil painting, cray-pas, and pastels under the tutelage of Philippine National Artist Rody Herrera, renowned for his design of the Philippine five-peso bill.
Albert's contributions to the art world have been recognized in publications like the "Chinese Painting in the Philippines" coffee table book (2012) and the International Studies for Chinese Arts (2015 and 2016 editions). With collectors spanning the globe, from the USA and Canada to Europe and Asia, Albert's works continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
